Children of the American Revolution (CAR)

The Children of the American Revolution (CAR) is a national organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and educating future generations about the sacrifices and accomplishments of our ancestors. The organization is open to children and youth under the age of 21 who are descendants of Revolutionary War patriots.

Founded in 1895, the CAR has a rich history of serving communities across the country through various service projects, educational programs, and patriotic events. Members participate in a wide range of activities, including volunteering at veterans' hospitals, organizing patriotic parades and ceremonies, and conducting research on their Revolutionary War ancestors.

One of the key benefits of CAR membership is the opportunity to connect with other young people who share a passion for American history and genealogy. Through the CAR, children and youth can learn about their family history and gain a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by their ancestors to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

The CAR also offers a range of educational programs and scholarships to support members in their academic pursuits. These include the National Society Children of the American Revolution Scholarship, the CAR American Heritage Award, and the CAR C.A.R.E.S. (Children Actively Responding to Engage Society) program.

If you are interested in joining the Children of the American Revolution, you can visit their website for more information on eligibility requirements and how to become a member. Membership in the CAR is a wonderful way to honor your Revolutionary War ancestors and make a difference in your community.
